SAATHI — Empowering Farmers

Empowering Farmers. Building Cleaner Food Systems.

From farm to food, SAATHI is creating the foundation for a transparent, sustainable, and farmer-led future — where cleaner food begins with empowered farmers.

What is SAATHI?

SAATHI (Sustainable Agriculture and Training Hub for Impact) is Khetika Foundation's farmer-first initiative designed to strengthen the foundation of India's food system by empowering the people who grow our food. Built on the belief that food can only be as pure as the conditions in which it is grown, SAATHI works directly with farmers to improve incomes, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and build transparent, traceable supply chains.

Through a growing network of Farmer Buying Centres (FBCs), training programmes, and technology-enabled systems, SAATHI helps farmers access fair markets, better prices, and practical knowledge that supports long-term prosperity.

Why SAATHI Matters

India's food system faces a challenge that extends beyond production. Farmers often contend with fragmented supply chains, dependence on intermediaries, delayed payments, limited access to quality testing facilities, and inadequate support for sustainable cultivation practices. At the same time, consumers increasingly seek food that is clean, authentic, and trustworthy.

SAATHI was created to bridge this gap. By bringing farmers closer to markets and equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and infrastructure they need to succeed, SAATHI creates value across the food ecosystem — benefiting both producers and consumers.

How SAATHI Works

At the heart of SAATHI are Farmer Buying Centres that serve as local hubs for procurement, training, quality assessment, and farmer engagement. Each centre provides direct procurement and fair pricing, quality testing and grading facilities, digital weighment and transparent transactions, fast and reliable payments, farmer training and capacity building, and access to sustainable and climate-smart farming practices.

By reducing dependency on intermediaries and creating transparent procurement systems, SAATHI helps farmers improve income realisation while building stronger trust throughout the supply chain.

Training Farmers for the Future

Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools available to farmers. Through regular training programmes, SAATHI supports farmers in adopting better agricultural practices, including Integrated Pest Management (IPM), soil and water management, climate-resilient cultivation techniques, post-harvest quality management, and financial literacy. These programmes are delivered with support from agricultural experts, institutions, and local partners, ensuring that farmers receive practical, field-level guidance that can improve both productivity and profitability.

Technology for Transparency

SAATHI integrates with Khetika's proprietary technology platforms, SuperKHET and SuperGRT, creating a transparent and traceable farm-to-food ecosystem. Through digital farmer registration, quality monitoring, QR-based traceability, digital weighment, and direct bank transfers, every stage of the sourcing process becomes more transparent, measurable, and accountable. This technology backbone enables better decision-making for farmers while strengthening consumer confidence in the food they purchase.

Building the Future of Clean Food

SAATHI is a reflection of Khetika Foundation's broader mission to create a cleaner, healthier, and more transparent food ecosystem for India. By connecting farmer prosperity with food purity, the initiative demonstrates that lasting change begins at the source. As SAATHI expands across agricultural regions and crop clusters, it continues to build a future where farmers are empowered partners, sustainable agriculture is rewarded, and consumers can trust the food on their plates.

Because cleaner food doesn't begin in factories or on store shelves. It begins on farms.
