What is the India Clean Food Summit?
The India Clean Food Summit is an annual platform conceived and presented by Khetika Foundation — India's independent, not-for-profit initiative building the country's Clean Food Movement. Launching its first edition in November 2026 at IIM Ahmedabad, the summit is designed to be India's definitive gathering for everyone with a stake in the future of honest food — from farmers and food scientists to founders, retailers, investors, policymakers, and conscious consumers.
It is not a trade fair. It is not a brand showcase dressed up as a conference. It is a purposeful, ideas-first platform built around one conviction: that clean, honest food should be India's new normal — and that getting there requires the entire ecosystem to move together.
Why This Summit. Why Now?
The timing is not incidental. India is at a genuine inflection point in its food story. Consumer awareness is rising sharply. The demand for transparency — in sourcing, in processing, in labelling — has moved from a niche preference to a mainstream expectation. At the same time, the scale of the challenge is becoming harder to ignore. Food adulteration remains widespread. Supply chains remain opaque. Millions of farmers who want to grow responsibly lack the knowledge and market access to make it viable at scale.
The India Clean Food Summit exists to accelerate the shift that is already beginning — by convening the people who can make it happen, generating the evidence that can guide it, and creating the coalitions that can sustain it.
What to Expect
The summit is designed as a one-day immersive experience — dense with substance, built for meaningful exchange. Industry keynotes will bring visionary perspectives from leaders who are redefining what food can and should be in India. Founder conversations will go behind the scenes of India's most purpose-led food brands. Policy and regulation dialogues will bring regulators, researchers, and industry voices together to discuss standards, labelling, food safety frameworks, and the governance infrastructure that India's clean food future requires.
Panel discussions will tackle the hard questions — what clean labelling actually means versus what brands communicate, whether India can scale preservative-free food at a national level, how technology is transforming traceability from farm to shelf, and how farmer-first sourcing models can become the rule rather than the exception. The Clean Food Experience Zone will make it tangible — product showcases, regional ingredient storytelling, live food experiences, and brand activations that bring the idea of clean food off the page and onto the plate.
Grounded in the Clean Food India 2030 Initiative
The India Clean Food Summit does not exist in isolation. It is the public expression of Khetika Foundation's wider commitment to systemic change — and specifically of the Clean Food India 2030 initiative, a joint programme with IIM Ahmedabad launched in 2025. Clean Food India 2030 is a structured, five-year, evidence-based roadmap covering consumer awareness, farm-to-plate best practices, capacity building across the value chain, policy development, impact measurement, and climate-smart sustainable practices.
The summit serves as the annual convening moment for this initiative — the place where the research meets the practitioners, where the evidence meets the policymakers, and where the movement gains its public momentum. IIM Ahmedabad's Centre for Management in Agriculture is a knowledge partner to the summit — bringing academic rigour, policy expertise, and research infrastructure to a platform that is firmly rooted in on-ground reality.
